" Profession, Not Just a Word "

We bought a very nice Royal Chess Mall board to go with our new chess set. Then a couple days later, we decided to get a second chess set that also needed a board. As we had already bought one semi expensive board, along with two chess sets, my budget for the second board wasn't as high. I set my eyes on the A&A African Palisander & Maple Inlaid chess board as it looked as though it had the potential to complement our burnt Zagreb chess set very nicely. Some of the reviews had me a little nervous the quality may detract from the set's beauty, but as the photos show, that is not the case in the least. This board is really nice and there are no quality control issues. The notations are clear, the joints meet up well, and there are no scratches. The bag that came with it is more than enough to protect it. It may not be quite as high quality as the other board, but it's also only a quarter of the price and will be a joy to play on.Show more

This chess board was much nicer than I expected. It was also larger than I expect which were both nice surprises. I bought the 4" chess pieces which ended up being the perfect size for this board. It's a very nice show piece to add to any living room or game room. I added a standard calculate to give the picture some scale.Show more

Love the price and the fact that its made with wood. Love the color contrast that matches my large chess set (not included). When you turned you see is real wood. Board is 21" x 21" and the squares are 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" perfect for my real wood set. The pouch it comes with is sturdy and lined to add protection. Not cheap plastic is ruff, water proof. For the money it was a great purchase! Recommended! Walnut color!Show more
